New Year’s Eve in Berlin

Hi loves!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Belated Happy 2018! Today I am writing about the most magical night in the whole year in one of the most beautiful European cities – Berlin. Aside from enjoying the wonderful decorations and the view of Berlin’s architectural masterpieces, on New Year’s Eve, the city shines in a whole new light, it becomes perfectly radiant with an atmosphere that is reserved for that one special night.

I have visited many European cities for New Year’s Eve – Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, etc. and our tradition is a fancy setting at a banquet hall, with a view of the city and live music. However, this time we have decided to spend the New Year’s Eve on the Alexanderplatz where we enjoyed the gorgeous fireworks under the stars.

For this magical night I chose to wear a sequin skirt. This skirt is a must in your closet and is perfect for every special occasion no matter the season. I paired it (and I always pair it) with some plain colour, this time it was this simple baby rose blouse because of the effect of the skirt. Since Berlin is very cold during the winter, I have decided to add this stunning cardigan to my outfit and make it extra stylish.

Enjoying Berlin

December 31, 2017

Hi loves!

I am sorry for the inactivity in the past few weeks due to studying.

I spent the last day of 2017 the most perfect way it could be spent. After our delicious breakfast at the hotel, we had an incredible idea – to watch a movie at the CineStar CUBIX. It is a specially designed building cinema in the heart of Alexanderplatz. Since we aren’t fluent in German, and the movies are displayed only in German, we decided to watch animated musical fantasy film – Coco. After the movie finished, we continued our way to Berliner Dom, seeking for new adventures. Our next adventure was a river cruise. The boat passes by the most popular sights in Berlin such as Berliner Dom, Museum Island, Reichstag, Hauptbahnhof, German Chancellery and Haus der Kulturen der Welt during which the passengers can enjoy a unique point of view of the new and old buildings of the government quarter. After the relaxing cruise through one of the most magnificent cities in the world we went for lunch before heading back to the hotel and preparing for one of the most glamorous nights – New Year’s Eve!

Orthodox Christmas Eve & Christmas

Hi everyone!

First of all, Merry Christmas to all the Orthodox Christians.

Since my mother is a Catholic and my father is an Orthodox, I get to celebrate both Catholic and Orthodox Christmas. I had an amazing Christmas Eve. I have firstly gone to the Church of Saint Sava, which is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. After visiting one of the most monumental buildings in Belgrade, we have decided to spend sometime relaxing at the cafe which has a breathtaking view on the Church. What was interesting about the coffee is that, instead of having to add sugar, inside of the cup you either get Nutella or white chocolate! At home, we traditionally set the table and enjoyed the rest of the evening while watching one of my favourite Christmas movies – Polar Express.

In the morning, my mother made česnica which is a round loaf of bread and it is a Serbian tradition for Christmas. Just like every other year, we have celebrated Christmas in Hotel Moskva eating Schwarzwald cake, drinking fruit teas and mulled wine. In a great atmosphere, we enjoyed the drinks, classy interior and a stunning view on the centre of Belgrade.

I hope you all had an amazing day loves!

New Year’s Vacation Berlin

December 30, 2017

Travelling makes me happy. Every New Years Eve I traditionally travel to capital European cities and I enjoy watching the spectacle on a new location every year. This year it was time for Berlin, the city I visited on Easter 2015. The city I immediately fell in love with when I arrived and just like the first time, I was unable to ignore it’s magic. Berlin is just too beautiful, vibrant, and is filled with amazing architecture and history. Since December 31st and January 1st weren’t working days we had a few hours to do the shopping. The store I would like to point out, is my definite favourite – Superdry. I was stunned by the Superdry store in Charlottenburg which was enormous. I bought this perfect purple Superdry Sport hoodie and if I had more time I would get more items, but unfortunately we had to move on to another stores. After shopping, I spent the rest of the day relaxing while reading a Gucci book and eating croissants and my favourite Milka pralinés.

Christmas 2017

Hi loves!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you were surrounded by your loved ones. My Christmas began in Hotel Moskva, which is my favourite restaurant in the heart of Belgrade. It is luxurious, has a rich history and architectural detail inside and out. The wide variety of food and drinks they offer are enormous and very tasty, so it was a perfect place to celebrate Christmas.

I live in a country where the majority is Orthodox, not Catholic, so they celebrate Christmas on January 7th. Our vacation didn’t start yet and due to the end of the semester getting closer, I had no other choice but to go to school. My mom and I have a little different tradition when it comes to presents, we travel every year before New Years Eve so we buy gifts abroad. However, when I came back home, my mom surprised me with the unexpected gifts under the Christmas tree. My favourite ones were a silver heart-shaped necklace with a pearl and a basket filled with my favourite chocolate and snacks. We spent the rest of the evening playing ludo game in pyjama and enjoying the lights, the food and the music in this wonderful holiday spirit. It was glorious.

Comment down below and let me know how you spent your Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Hi lovelies!

Merry Christmas Eve and I hope you all had a wonderful day and have some amazing plans for the merriest day of the year, December 25th!

I love Christmas and I love the magical feeling it brings into homes. For this special occasion, I chose to wear a long purple dress with a bit of sparkles. Since the dress is simple I decided to add a belt to it. Belts are, in my opinion, one of the most underrated items in fashion. They bring attention to the waist and show off the curves. This gorgeous purple cardigan with sparkly flower detailing instantly completes the look, effortlessly. There is nothing more glamorous than throwing on a pair of heels. They are a classic piece which added an elegant touch to this look.

My Little Italian Diary – Trieste

Day 5

Hi everyone!

On the last day of our trip we have gone to Trieste. The best way to discover the secret of a happy life is to head to Trieste. A city where everyone can enjoy life and make the most of the time in everything they do. One of my favourite things to do in Trieste is shop, however this time it was Sunday so I was unable to do so. Instead, we have decided to enjoy this magnificent city on a cloudy day the best way possible. We have explored Piazza Unità d’Italia, Piazza della Borsa, Molo Audace and Ponte Rosso with a charming view on the Canal Grande which as always, just like the first time I saw each of these attractions, watched in the same amazement as the first time I saw them. We have decided to spend the rest of the day on the Grand Canal which offers an enchanting setting with small boats. It is a charming place to sip a cup of excellent Trieste coffee and eat delicious pasta. We sat in one of many cafes by the Canal Grande and relaxed as we had an astonishing view on Chiesa Sant’Antonio Taumaturgo at the end of the canal, Serbian Orthodox Church of San Spiridone and the bridges straddling the canal. This is where The Little Italian Diary ended, currently I am packing for the next adventure – Berlin.
