New Year’s Vacation Berlin

December 30, 2017

Travelling makes me happy. Every New Years Eve I traditionally travel to capital European cities and I enjoy watching the spectacle on a new location every year. This year it was time for Berlin, the city I visited on Easter 2015. The city I immediately fell in love with when I arrived and just like the first time, I was unable to ignore it’s magic. Berlin is just too beautiful, vibrant, and is filled with amazing architecture and history. Since December 31st and January 1st weren’t working days we had a few hours to do the shopping. The store I would like to point out, is my definite favourite – Superdry. I was stunned by the Superdry store in Charlottenburg which was enormous. I bought this perfect purple Superdry Sport hoodie and if I had more time I would get more items, but unfortunately we had to move on to another stores. After shopping, I spent the rest of the day relaxing while reading a Gucci book and eating croissants and my favourite Milka pralinés.

Christmas 2017

Hi loves!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you were surrounded by your loved ones. My Christmas began in Hotel Moskva, which is my favourite restaurant in the heart of Belgrade. It is luxurious, has a rich history and architectural detail inside and out. The wide variety of food and drinks they offer are enormous and very tasty, so it was a perfect place to celebrate Christmas.

I live in a country where the majority is Orthodox, not Catholic, so they celebrate Christmas on January 7th. Our vacation didn’t start yet and due to the end of the semester getting closer, I had no other choice but to go to school. My mom and I have a little different tradition when it comes to presents, we travel every year before New Years Eve so we buy gifts abroad. However, when I came back home, my mom surprised me with the unexpected gifts under the Christmas tree. My favourite ones were a silver heart-shaped necklace with a pearl and a basket filled with my favourite chocolate and snacks. We spent the rest of the evening playing ludo game in pyjama and enjoying the lights, the food and the music in this wonderful holiday spirit. It was glorious.

Comment down below and let me know how you spent your Christmas!

My Little Italian Diary – Trieste

Day 5

Hi everyone!

On the last day of our trip we have gone to Trieste. The best way to discover the secret of a happy life is to head to Trieste. A city where everyone can enjoy life and make the most of the time in everything they do. One of my favourite things to do in Trieste is shop, however this time it was Sunday so I was unable to do so. Instead, we have decided to enjoy this magnificent city on a cloudy day the best way possible. We have explored Piazza Unità d’Italia, Piazza della Borsa, Molo Audace and Ponte Rosso with a charming view on the Canal Grande which as always, just like the first time I saw each of these attractions, watched in the same amazement as the first time I saw them. We have decided to spend the rest of the day on the Grand Canal which offers an enchanting setting with small boats. It is a charming place to sip a cup of excellent Trieste coffee and eat delicious pasta. We sat in one of many cafes by the Canal Grande and relaxed as we had an astonishing view on Chiesa Sant’Antonio Taumaturgo at the end of the canal, Serbian Orthodox Church of San Spiridone and the bridges straddling the canal. This is where The Little Italian Diary ended, currently I am packing for the next adventure – Berlin.

My Little Italian Diary – Coffee In Verona

Day 4

I love coffee. I have tried various types of coffee in many cities I have visited. By far, the best coffees I tried were in Trieste and Verona.

On the fourth day, we were on our way to Verona. Our main plan was to enjoy the coffee in one of the cafes on Piazza Bra. I have been to Verona many times before, but the season was always spring or summer. Every time we drank coffee we were sitting in the cafe’s garden admiring the breathtaking view on Arena di Verona.

However, this time it was autumn so we had no choice but to sit inside. We chose a cafe-restaurant called Vittorio Emanuele. It is the most elegant cafe I have ever been to. This time I have noticed that I never really paid attention to how wonderful these cafes look like from the inside. I was stunned by this glorious cafe and the rich decor. The coffee is served in fabulous cups and it is a perfect way to experience a different side of Verona’s coffee history and enjoy this historic place.

My Little Italian Diary – Florence

Day 3

Hi loves!

Travelling on a rainy day may seem to be monotonous to some people, however rain perfectly blends in the atmosphere and the architecture in Florence. When we got in Florence, we were given a city map and we began our adventure. I was amazed by the beauty of Duomo and how I was able to feel the spirit of Renaissance all around it. After taking some pictures and enjoying the delicious chocolate from the Lindt Chocolate Shop we continued walking through the streets of Florence. After sometime we found ourselves in the Central Market which is situated on San Lorenzo. I was surprised with the variety of food, leather bags, belts, scarves and many more things they sell on this market. While shopping in the market, the smell of fresh rain was mixing with the smells of delicious dishes and the colourful leather items. After grabbing a bite to eat, we didn’t have much time left in this amazing city, so we decided to explore Florence as much as we can and buy souvenirs before we get on the bus and continue our Italian journey.

In Florence I wore a simple black shirt and half leather leggings, which I matched with my black leather ankle boots. On my trip to Italy, I chose outfits that would match the places I’m visiting – classy but not over the top.

My Little Italian Diary – San Marino

Day 2, Part 2

Hi loves!

I am sorry I have been inactive in the past few weeks. I will write a special blog explaining the reason why. Today’s blog post is about San Marino.

When I first heard ‘San Marino’ I honestly imagined a place similar to Nice, France – full of casinos, fabulous restaurants and shops. However, once I had arrived I realised that San Marino is everything the opposite of what I had imagined. San Marino is the capital of the Republic of San Marino and it is situated high up on a mountain top. It is surrounded by a wall and towers which have a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. Walking through the streets of San Marino I remembered the old-fashioned long streets in Cinque Terre which looked almost exactly the same – filled with souvenir shops and classy restaurants. After admiring the breathtaking view from the centre of the city and taking some pictures, we decided to explore San Marino while looking for a restaurant where we will have lunch.

I felt like I was in a fairytale when I saw a street filled with white statues, benches and colourful flowers.

We found a fantastic restaurant for lunch, ambiance and a stunning view, conjured up a magical afternoon as we looked down on the countryside and the mountains surrounding this city.

The time flies when you’re having fun and soon it was time to leave this brilliant city back to our hotel in Rimini and get ready for the next adventure – Florence.

In San Marino I wore black elastic pants which I matched with a grey shirt. I tucked in the shirt so it shapes my body. I again wore my favourite black ankle boots and a brown middle sized bag in which all my needs during the travel can fit. This outfit can be both dressy and casual depending on the lipstick colour you choose – a cute light pink lipstick for the day to the night with red or any darker lipstick shade.

My Little Italian Diary – Italia in Miniatura

Day 2, Part 1
Hi loves! I hope you all had a lovely week and will have a wonderful weekend ahead.

After waking up in Rimini, getting ready and having breakfast we got ready for our trip to San Marino.

Since I wasn’t met with the whole trip plan very well, I was surprised when our bus stopped in front of Italia in Miniatura. By it’s name, I could guess it would be a park with miniature replicas of the famous Italian buildings. When I got a park map, it actually reminded me a lot of how Disneyland is organised, just smaller.

Once we got inside, I noticed that the park still had a Halloween vibe. Huge spiders could be seen as a decoration on a Florence Cathedral and inside of the Colosseum. After roaming around through the famous Italian buildings, I decided to climb the miniature Alps.

Behind the Alps, I found out that Italia in Miniatura doesn’t only consist of Italian monuments, but overall some of the European most important ones, too. There is a miniature Eiffel Tower, St. Paul Cathedral, Neuschwastein Castle and many more. Next to the Europe in miniature there is a tiny zoo, but all I could see were parrots.

If any of you plan on visiting Italia in miniatura, I would suggest you not to come in the morning because then you wouldn’t be able to experience everything this park has to offer. Sailing down the Grand Canal in miniature Venice, driving on miniature roads or any of the extreme rides are the experience you cannot miss!
